Playa de los Amadores literally means – ¨The lovers beach¨. Indeed, the beach is for the most romantic ones reminding a little tropical paradise in the earth. It has a perfectly white sand and crystal clear blue waters. Very recommended for the couples to spend a fantastic day in the sun and watching a sunset in the sea. Due to the protected bay, there are almost no waves, so it is very safe for the families with small kids.

The beach was awarded with a prestigious premium of ¨Blue flag¨ (Bandera azul, esp.) which includes the best standards of the water quality, the environment, security and maintenance.

Ball games and listening to loud music are not allowed and although the vibe is quiet, families spend time here as the sand provides perfect conditions for small children to run around and play safely. Refreshing drinks, tapas and succulent seafood are on offer from a good assortment of bars and restaurants situated directly behind the beach.

There are shower facilities on the beach and buses run to the resort frequently from most areas and are a cheap way to travel. Inexpensive car parking is also available nearby.

History
Amadores was created with sand dredged from off the south coast when Puerto Rico beach got too crowded so it was designed to cater to sun-loving tourists.
