Gran Canaria Pets

We have no shelter of our own and our animals are temporarily in private homes. However, we work closely with public dog-shelters too. We hope to continue to save as many animals as we did so far. We have no government grants, we raise money by donations from animal lovers, adoptions and membership fees. We are a non profit organisation and all the money we raise goes to dog food, veterinary care (vaccinations, castrations / surgeries, microchips), accommodation, etc. for our animals.”

If you love animals and you cannot stand their suffering either, do something for them! Any bit of help is welcome and here are many ways to help them. Choose a way that suits you best!

A special thank you to “What’s on in Gran Canaria” for this publicity and the help
in raising awareness of our existence!

Who we are

We are a group of volunteers who for years headed and worked in the Animal Protector. Since the 22th of October 2011, this animal protectori is directed by a new group of five people. We wish them success in the continuation in our work for many years.
Because it is not possible that the two groups continue managing the same animal protector, and want to continue working and helping animals in need, we created a new animal protector:
At the moment we have no shelter and our animals are in private homes, but also we help those who are in the dog-pounds in Santa Brigida and Puerto Rico.
We hope to continue helping many animals as we did so far (we have been able to find new homes for 140 dogs so far this year) and to start we have only our love for animals, our voluntary firm will help them, as well our experience and we are confident that we will continue to help many more.
We have no profit, all the money we raise will be for paying the food, veterinary care (vaccinations, operations, microchip, etc), accommodation, etc…. for our dogs.
No one in GRAN CANARIA PETS receives a salary or remuneration. We are all volunteers.
On Saturday the 5th of November we had our first meeting to give legal form to our new animal protector. And here we are!!
